  It was a very disappointing experience. My husband & I were celebrating our 54th anniversary and we went to dinner at Petey's II. We ordered the pepper steak (which we both love) when it came it had big chucks (ends) of steak which should have been thin and tender, but we could not even chew it...It had so much grizzle. When the waitress took it back, the man who is managing ( I think his name is Gus) said that is the way it is and he would not take it back and that we would have to order something else if we did not take what we had. I was not going to order anything else but my husband was upset if I did not eat. I have been ordering this dish since they put it on the special menu. My husband and I were waiting for this all day and it spoiled our 54th anniversary dinner. If Mike (the manager that use to be there) would have been there he would have changed it for us and not because we know him because we don't but we knew his name. The steak, if it was filet like this manager kept saying it was, is the type of steak they give to people, they would never come back, as we are no longer going back. He treated us like he didn't care if we were pleased or not. I have been telling everyone how good the pepper steak is and to try it but I am making sure I let them know not to go there. I guess we will just have to go back to Al's Steak House. At least the owner there would have done something about it. Mike use to go around and ask how everything was and was so friendly. This manager now is not management material!!!!! He never asked anyone how things were. He stayed up front or in the back of the room. I am also sending this to The Bungalow Petey's I to show how their manager is and does not care about the customer. By the way our bill ended up being $86.89 with tip and no alcoholic drinks and with 1 sprite. It would have been around $50.00 if we could have had the pepper steak for 2 people. After we left my husband and I looked at each other and said we should have just left without ordering anything else but we did not want to because of the waitress (Nancy). She was excellent and tried everything to get it taken care of, but I suppose the Manager did not care!!!! He is going to ruin the business with this kind of attitude.

  Bring a healthy appetite with you as they will fill you up beyond belief. The appetizer relishes and peppers is great but be careful you can fill up on them before you get your main course. I've eaten here for almost thirty years. It's a neighborhood favorite. Old style with panache. Good food.
